Personal Strength and Self Love

Starts Inside

Empowering young teens to discover their true selves

We work with young females between ages 11-15 to strengthen their connection with themselves, others, and nature in the Gunnison Valley. We guide adolescents on a journey of self-discovery, harnessing the transformative power of nature, the grounding practices of yoga therapy, and the genuine support of a nurturing community.

We build in 3 activities per week over the course of 4 weeks with a group of 6-8 young female teens.

From rejuvenating yoga sessions to lively group gatherings, stimulating discussions, and outdoor excursions, our program is designed to cultivate essential coping mechanisms for handling stress, anxiety, body image concerns, navigating peer relationships, and building confidence and resilience. The 4 week program allows the girls to build authentic relationships in a supporting space.

Mindfulness Tools for Life: In this 4 week program we will be working with 4 key concepts that are derived from the 8 limbs of yoga. Each week we will focus on one of the following topics: non harming (Ahimsa), non attachment (Aparigraha), contentment (Santosha), and self study (Svadyaya).

We will discuss ways in which we can apply these topics in our daily lives, build community in understanding how each other also navigates these challenges, and learn a variety of tools to understand which works best to support our own unique journey.
